The Practice

The plugin installs in an afternoon. The governance is the project.

Claudeforce is unusually easy to turn on and unusually easy to get wrong. Connecting Claude to your CRM means every permission mistake, every stale field, and every unowned record becomes something a model can read and act on. The work is not the install. The work is deciding what Claude is allowed to see, what it is allowed to change, and how you would know if it got something wrong.

What we actually do

We scope which teams get access and to what, map the Salesforce permission model onto the plugin so it inherits your existing sharing rules rather than working around them, clean the objects the skills read from, and set up evaluation on the skills you rely on most before anyone trusts an output. Where the prebuilt skills do not fit how you sell, we build the ones that do.

Where it goes wrong

The failures we expect are the familiar ones in a new place: a pilot run on data nobody has audited, so the answers are confident and wrong; access granted org-wide because scoping it felt slow; a skill that writes back to Salesforce with no approval step; and no measurement, so six months later nobody can say whether it helped. Each of those is preventable at setup and expensive afterward.

Why Abstrakt Solutions

We work on both sides of this integration. We have been a Salesforce Consulting Partner since 2017, and we build production AI systems for a living, which means we treat the CRM data model and the model behavior as one problem instead of two. We will also tell you when Agentforce is the better answer for a given workflow, or when neither is.

What We Deliver

How we help with Claudeforce.

The engagements we run most often on Claudeforce, from first implementation through optimization.

Readiness & scoping

Which teams, which objects, which skills, and what has to be true about your data before any of it is useful.

Permissions & governance

Mapping the plugin onto your existing Salesforce sharing model, with approval steps on anything that writes back.

Data grounding

Cleaning and structuring the objects the prebuilt skills read from, so answers are grounded in records you trust.

Custom skills

Building the skills your sales motion needs when the 37 that ship do not match how your team actually works.

Evaluation

Testing skill output against known-good answers before rollout, and monitoring it after.

Agentforce vs. Claudeforce design

Deciding which workflows belong to an agent inside Salesforce and which belong in Claude, instead of buying both and hoping.

Inside Claudeforce

What Claudeforce actually includes.

Salesforce in Claude plugin

The launch component of Claudeforce is a plugin that brings Salesforce data and actions into Claude. It ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills covering tasks like meeting prep, deal health and pipeline review. Salesforce says an admin connects the org once and actions route through Salesforce to enforce business rules. Salesforce listed Claudeforce as in beta at Dreamforce in September 2026; confirm with your account team whether your org can join.

Claude as Agentforce’s reasoning model

Salesforce announced Claude as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine and the default model for Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker, with Claude also selectable in Agentforce Builder. Agents still run on Salesforce subagents, actions and guardrails. Existing Agentforce designs gain Claude’s reasoning without moving agent logic off the platform, though you should retest agents after any model change.

Inference inside the Salesforce trust boundary

Salesforce describes Claude as the first model provider fully integrated within its trust boundary, served through Amazon Bedrock inside Salesforce’s own cloud environment. The stated goal is letting regulated industries use Claude while data stays within Salesforce’s security perimeter. Ask Salesforce for the specific data handling, retention and regional commitments that apply to your contract before approving sensitive use cases.

Claude across Slack

The announcement names Claude as the default model for Slack AI experiences, including Slackbot. For Salesforce customers this matters because Slack is often where deals and escalations get discussed. Salesforce positions Slack as a place to reason with Claude and then run governed Salesforce actions. Check which Slack plans and features are enabled in your workspace.

Governed actions through Salesforce

Across these surfaces, writes are meant to pass through Salesforce rather than around it, so validation rules, sharing and permissions still apply. Salesforce also exposes data, workflows and actions through MCP servers, APIs and command-line tools. The practical implication is that your Salesforce permission model becomes the main control over what Claude can see and do.

Skills roadmap beyond sales

The initial skill set targets sellers, and Salesforce says additional prebuilt skills begin launching in late 2026. Until those arrive, service, marketing or operations teams may need custom skills or other connection paths. Treat roadmap items as forward-looking statements, plan pilots around what is available in your org today and revisit scope as each release lands.

Good fit

When Claudeforce is the right call.

  • Sellers already spend much of their day in Claude and want pipeline updates, meeting prep and deal reviews there without switching to Salesforce screens.
  • You run Agentforce and want Claude reasoning inside agents while subagents, actions and guardrails stay managed in Salesforce by your existing admins.
  • Security or compliance teams require model inference to remain inside the Salesforce trust boundary before approving generative AI on customer records.
  • Your Salesforce sharing model, field-level security and validation rules are well maintained, so inherited permissions will give each user appropriate access.
  • Sales leaders want consistent, prebuilt workflows for deal health and pipeline review rather than every rep writing their own prompts against CRM data.
Think twice

When something else fits better.

  • You need a custom application that combines Salesforce with several other systems and your own logic; calling Claude directly through the API may fit better.
  • The workload is deterministic, such as routing, field updates or approvals, where Salesforce Flow is cheaper, predictable and easier to audit.
  • Your org is not in the pilot or beta and the use case cannot wait; existing Claude connection paths such as hosted MCP servers may serve now.
  • Opportunity and account data is incomplete or poorly owned, so skills reasoning over pipeline would produce polished summaries built on unreliable records.
Rollout

How a Claudeforce rollout comes together.

  1. 01

    Confirm availability and terms

Start by asking Salesforce whether your org qualifies for the Salesforce in Claude pilot or beta, and which Agentforce features already use Claude in your edition. Collect the written data handling commitments, regional availability and any consumption terms. Share them with security, legal and procurement early, because approval cycles for new AI surfaces often take longer than technical setup.

  2. 02

Decide which surface owns each task

List candidate workflows and assign each to a surface. Agentforce handles agents inside Salesforce channels, and the plugin serves sellers working in Claude. Slack covers team discussions, while direct API or MCP suits custom applications. Writing this down prevents duplicate builds and conflicting automations. It also clarifies who owns prompts, skills, topics and evaluations for each workflow.

  3. 03

    Tighten permissions before connecting

Because the plugin and agents respect Salesforce access, any overly broad permission set, sharing rule or profile becomes something Claude can use. Review access for the pilot users, remove stale permissions and check field-level security on sensitive fields. Confirm validation rules produce clear errors, since governed writes from Claude will surface those messages to users.

  4. 04

Pilot with a small seller group

Choose a handful of sellers and managers, enable a few skills such as meeting prep and pipeline review, and compare outputs against what they know about their deals. Capture incorrect or incomplete answers, then trace each back to data, permissions or skill design. Keep writes limited and reviewed until the group trusts the results.

  5. 05

    Measure, extend and retest

Track adoption, time saved on preparation and the accuracy of pipeline updates made through Claude. Revisit Agentforce agents whenever Salesforce changes the default model, and rerun your test conversations. As new skills launch beyond sales, evaluate them the same way before rolling out, and retire overlapping custom prompts once a prebuilt skill performs better.

Before you buy licenses

Salesforce’s announcement states that pricing and packaging are subject to change, availability may vary by region and terms are governed by customer agreements. Treat Claudeforce as a set of components rather than one product line item. Ask Salesforce how the Salesforce in Claude plugin is licensed once it leaves beta. Ask whether Claude usage inside Agentforce consumes the same credits as other models, and which Claude plans your users need. Also confirm Slack plan requirements for Claude features there. Get written answers covering both vendors before committing, and do not assume pilot access implies included production entitlement.

Avoid These

Common Claudeforce mistakes.

Treating Claudeforce as an Agentforce rename

Some teams read the announcement as Agentforce being replaced. It is not: Agentforce still runs agents inside Salesforce, now with Claude reasoning, while Salesforce in Claude brings CRM context into Claude. Confusing the two leads to wrong architecture choices, such as rebuilding working agents as plugin skills or buying tools that overlap with what you already own.

Assuming the trust boundary covers everything

The trust boundary Salesforce describes applies to Claude inference within Salesforce’s offerings. It does not automatically cover a developer calling Claude directly, a personal Claude account or a third-party tool connected over MCP. Map every path your people use to reach Claude, and apply the right data classification rules to each rather than assuming one approval covers all.

Skipping permission cleanup

Inheriting Salesforce permissions is only safe if those permissions are correct. Years of permission sets granted for one-off projects, broad sharing rules and unrestricted sensitive fields become visible through a conversational interface much faster than through list views. Run an access review for pilot users first and fix obvious overexposure before switching the plugin on.

Planning around roadmap dates

Pilot, beta and late-2026 skill timelines are forward-looking and can shift. Committing a service or marketing rollout to skills that are not yet available risks stalled projects and frustrated users. Build the plan on what works in your org today, keep a fallback such as custom skills or direct integration and adjust scope as releases actually arrive.

FAQ

Claudeforce questions.

Is Claudeforce the same as Claude in Agentforce?

No. Claudeforce is the name Salesforce and Anthropic gave their expanded collaboration, announced in August 2026. It includes Claude as a reasoning model inside Agentforce, which puts Claude into Salesforce, and the Salesforce in Claude plugin, which puts Salesforce into Claude. Slack experiences are part of it too. Each component has its own availability, so check them separately with your Salesforce account team.

When should we use Agentforce instead of Claude directly?

Use Agentforce when the agent serves Salesforce channels, such as service conversations, record pages or Experience Cloud sites. It also fits when admins should manage topics, actions and guardrails in Salesforce. Use Claude directly, through the API or MCP, for custom applications, multi-system reasoning or developer tooling where your own code controls tools and logic. Using both for different workflows is a reasonable outcome.

What did Salesforce say about data handling?

Salesforce says Claude is fully integrated within its trust boundary, served through Amazon Bedrock inside Salesforce’s environment, which it positions for regulated industries. Earlier announcements described this as keeping sensitive data and workloads within Salesforce’s trusted environment. For contractual detail, such as retention, logging and regional processing, request documentation from Salesforce, because announcements summarize intent rather than define contractual obligations for your org.

Who can use Salesforce in Claude today?

At the August 2026 announcement, the plugin was available to select pilot customers, with an open beta expected in September 2026 and further skills from late 2026. Timelines like these can move. Ask your Salesforce account team for current status, eligibility requirements and whether beta participation carries different terms from general availability before planning a production rollout for your sellers.

Can developers still use Claude with Salesforce outside Claudeforce?

Yes. Developers can call Claude through Anthropic’s API or cloud platforms and connect to Salesforce through its APIs or hosted MCP servers. Those connections run as a signed-in user or an integration user. That route suits custom applications and internal tools. The difference is ownership: your team builds and governs the integration, rather than relying on Salesforce-managed components and support.
