Salesforce consulting for Construction

Construction is a fragmented, project-driven business where margins live or die on operational execution. The general contractors and specialty contractors winning right now have unified pursuit, estimating, project ops, and field execution on one connected platform, with the field-to-office data flow that actually works.

Mobile field execution

Salesforce Mobile and Salesforce Field Service for daily reports, time tracking, photo capture, weather logs, and project status updates from the field.

Subcontractor portal

Experience Cloud portal for subs, bid submission, document management, payment tracking, and coordination workflows.

Real-time job financials

Procore + Salesforce + Tableau integration for live job profitability, budget vs actual tracking, and PM-level visibility.

Safety and incident management

Mobile-first safety incident reporting, OSHA tracking, certification expiry alerts, and toolbox-talk infrastructure.

Equipment and asset platform

Asset tracking with utilization metrics, maintenance scheduling, depreciation, and job-level allocation reporting.

Common Challenges

What we see in construction.

The technology and process challenges that come up in nearly every engagement we run in this industry.

Pursuit visibility across long cycles

Construction pursuit cycles are long and involve many stakeholders. Most firms cannot tell you where pursuit dollars are sitting at any given moment.

Field-to-office data lag

Information from the jobsite often takes days or weeks to reach project accounting. By then, the margin damage is done.

Subcontractor coordination chaos

Sub coordination runs on email, paper, and tribal knowledge. Better tooling transforms project execution and reduces claims risk.

Estimating disconnected from CRM and accounting

Most estimating happens in standalone tools, then gets re-keyed into CRM and accounting. The data loss along the way is enormous.

Safety and compliance documentation

OSHA requirements, safety incident tracking, and certification management often live in paper or disconnected systems.

Equipment fleet and asset tracking

Knowing where equipment is, what it cost, and what it earned per job is the difference between profitable jobs and losses.

Regulatory & Compliance Matters

What we navigate in construction.

Compliance is not a separate workstream, it is embedded in every workflow we deliver. The major frameworks we work within:

OSHA 1926 (Construction Standards)

Safety program evidence, training records, incident reporting, and site-specific safety planning.

Prevailing Wage / Davis-Bacon

Certified payroll workflows, fringe benefit calculations, and prevailing wage compliance evidence.

EEO / OFCCP (Government Contracts)

Affirmative action program compliance, applicant tracking, and government contractor reporting.

Surety / Bonding Requirements

Bonding capacity tracking, surety relationships, and project financial reporting for bond underwriters.

Lien Rights & Notices

Preliminary notice tracking, lien deadlines by state, and waiver workflow management.

Environmental & Stormwater (SWPPP)

Stormwater pollution prevention plans, environmental compliance evidence, and inspection workflows.

Signature Service Categories

The major construction practices our team runs.

Each category represents a deep specialization with dedicated playbooks, accelerators, and experienced consultants.

Pursuit & Bid Management

Long-cycle pursuit tracking, competitive intelligence, win/loss analytics, and pursuit team coordination.

Estimating & Pre-Construction

Estimating workflow design, historical data leverage, and pre-construction productivity.

Project Operations & Financials

Project accounting integration, real-time profitability, and field-to-office data flow.

Subcontractor & Trade Partner Platforms

Experience Cloud portals for subs, bid submission, payment tracking, and coordination.

Safety, Compliance & Asset Management

Safety incident tracking, OSHA compliance, certifications, and equipment fleet management.

Our Approach

How we approach construction work.

Working patterns we reuse across engagements, refined through our Salesforce and AI client work since 2017.

Bid-to-Build Pipeline

A reference architecture for moving opportunities from prequalification through bid, award, and project handoff without losing data or context.

Field-to-Office Sync

Our approach to connecting field-captured data (daily reports, photos, RFIs, punch lists) into back-office systems with minimum friction.

Subcontractor Operating System

A framework for prequalifying, contracting, insurance-tracking, paying, and managing subcontractors at scale.

Project Financial Visibility

A blueprint for connecting accounting (Sage/Viewpoint), project management (Procore), and CRM so cost-to-complete is real-time and accurate.

FAQ

Salesforce for construction: common questions.

Which Salesforce products fit a general or specialty contractor?

Most contractors combine Sales Cloud for pursuits and bids with Field Service for crews and Revenue Cloud or CPQ for estimates that follow consistent rules. Experience Cloud adds a portal for subcontractors or owners. The mix depends on whether you self-perform work: a firm with field labor gets far more from Field Service than a general contractor that subcontracts nearly everything. We map your pursuit-to-closeout process first and license only what that process needs.

How does Salesforce work alongside Procore and construction accounting?

Salesforce should own the pursuit and client relationship, while Procore runs the project and your accounting system owns cost. The connection that matters is the handoff at award, when bid details should create the project without re-keying, plus the flow back of job cost and margin so business development sees which clients and project types actually pay. We settle that boundary before integrating, because overlapping ownership is the most common reason construction integrations stall.

Can AI read field paperwork like inspection forms and daily reports?

Often yes, and it is one of the most practical AI uses in construction. Document AI can extract structured data from inspection forms, delivery tickets and daily reports, and Agentforce can then answer questions about delays or cycle times across projects. A telecom-infrastructure contractor we worked with used this approach to read checkbox-heavy site forms its existing extraction tool could not handle. Test accuracy against your real forms before relying on the output.

What implementation risks should contractors plan for?

Field adoption is the biggest risk, because a crew that finds the mobile app slower than paper will quietly stop using it. Keep mobile screens short, support offline capture where sites lack coverage, and pilot with a single crew before rolling out. Licensing deserves attention too, since not every laborer needs a full Salesforce user license if their time can be recorded another way. Capture safety records so OSHA documentation is quick to retrieve.
