Wealth advisor meeting with clients in an office
Salesforce, AI & Revenue Operations

Salesforce consulting for Wealth Management

Wealth management is a relationship business that runs on data. The firms winning right now have unified CRM, custodian, and reporting infrastructure, and the AI-augmented advisor productivity tools that let senior advisors focus on the conversations that compound client lifetime value. The technical work is unglamorous, book transitions, custodian integrations, supervisory review, but it is what separates firms with scalable operations from firms stuck where they are.

Common Challenges

What we see in wealth management.

The technology and process challenges that come up in nearly every engagement we run in this industry.

Book transitions and M&A integrations

When advisors move firms or when firms acquire books, getting client data, history, and relationships transferred cleanly is the difference between a great or terrible advisor onboarding experience.

Compliance and supervisory review at scale

SEC and FINRA expectations grow every year. The firms that scale have automated supervisory review, audit trails baked into every workflow, and compliance evidence ready on demand.

Advisor productivity drag

Senior advisors lose hours every week on meeting prep, client communication, and admin work that AI can handle. The opportunity cost of not deploying these tools compounds quickly.

CRM that does not match advisor workflow

Generic CRM does not understand household structures, advisor team assignments, fee schedules, or compliance review queues. Salesforce Financial Services Cloud done right does.

Custodian and TAMP integration sprawl

Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, plus TAMPs and reporting tools, every integration is its own snowflake, with edge cases that break under load.

Client portal experiences that feel dated

Wealthy clients expect digital experiences that match their best banking apps. Most advisor portals look like 2014 and clients notice.

Regulatory & Compliance Matters

What we navigate in wealth management.

Compliance is not a separate workstream, it is embedded in every workflow we deliver. The major frameworks we work within:

SEC Rule 17a-4 (Books & Records)

Retention, immutability, and supervisory access for electronic communications and trade records.

FINRA 2210 / 3110 / 4511

Communications with the public, supervision, and books and records, all of which need evidence in your CRM.

Reg BI (Regulation Best Interest)

Disclosure tracking, conflict-of-interest evidence, and care obligations documented at the account level.

DOL Fiduciary Considerations

Rollover analysis, fiduciary status tracking, and disclosure workflows that survive an exam.

State RIA / IAR Registrations

Multi-state Form ADV updates, IAR registrations, and notice filings tracked in workflow.

Cybersecurity Rule (S-P / Reg S-ID)

Customer data safeguarding, identity theft program evidence, and breach notification workflows.

FAQ

Salesforce for wealth management: common questions.

Is Financial Services Cloud the right Salesforce product for an RIA or wealth firm?

For most advisory firms, yes, because Financial Services Cloud ships with the household, financial account and relationship structures a wealth practice needs. The harder decision is how much to configure versus leave standard. Firms that customize every object end up fighting upgrades, while firms that change nothing push advisors into awkward workarounds. We usually start from the standard wealth data model and extend it only where your service model or fee arrangements genuinely differ.

How should custodian data flow into Salesforce?

Custodian data should land in Salesforce on a schedule advisors can trust, with clear rules for what happens when records disagree. Positions, balances and transactions typically arrive through daily feeds or a data aggregator, and portfolio reporting and financial planning tools add their own layer. We define which system owns each field before building anything, so an advisor never wonders whether the balance on screen matches what the client sees on a statement.

How do we keep automated client communication compliant with SEC and FINRA expectations?

Automation has to preserve the same archiving and supervision your firm already applies to advisor email. That means routing automated messages through your archiving provider, keeping templates under compliance review, and logging who approved what. A fee-only RIA we worked with automated post-meeting surveys this way and sent 35+ feedback surveys in its first months while every message stayed archived and supervised. Your chief compliance officer should confirm the rules for your registration type.

Where does AI actually help financial advisors today?

AI earns its place in wealth management on preparation and follow-through, not on investment decisions. An agent can assemble a meeting brief from household records, recent activity and open service requests, then draft the recap and next steps afterward for the advisor to edit. We build these with Claude or Agentforce, grounded in your Salesforce data, and keep a person reviewing anything that reaches a client so supervision stays intact.
